Social Media Activation at UNAOC Global Forum

Shake and Share Media Builds Social Media Engagement with Ringlight Photobooth

Now in its 8th year, the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) Global Forum brings together representatives from countries across the globe to share insight and forge relationships. Although the event is held at UN headquarters in Manhattan, the impact reaches worldwide. This year, the social media team at UNAOC asked Shake and Share to help increase their online engagement during the forum by creating a simple, fun activation that would provide some content for participants to post across their online platforms.

The theme of this year’s Global Forum was “Partnerships for Prevention and Sustaining Peace,” helmed by the hashtag #Commit2Dialogue. For the activation, we utilized our ringlight Boomerang booth because A) everyone loves the glam filter and B) it is the most mobile (we switched venues over the course of the Forum). Instead of choosing from our usual props, delegates were able to pose with their country’s flag and custom signage. And if they really wanted to let loose–which, after hours of meetings, who wouldn’t?–they could show us some moves for a Boomerang! Afterward, we encouraged everyone to upload their photos to social media with tags provided by the UNAOC.

While at the Global Forum, it was truly remarkable to see how cultures across the world interact with our photobooth. Regardless of which continent someone had travelled from, they still wanted the crowded group photo with all of their new friends, followed by the formal solo shot (for their LinkedIn!). The hashtag #Commit2Dialogue trended online far outside the confines of just the United States. Social media is an international phenomenon. Shake and Share Media is here to help you leave a footprint!

A smile translates the same in every language.
